Deep-tissue therapy aimed at the release of toxins, clearing of blockages and refreshing of veins and arteries to improve the energy flow within the body (Qi). It helps to reduce pain and inflammation, improve immune function, respiratory and digestive systems as well skin issues, including cellulite.
Where there’s stagnation, there will be a pain. Remove the stagnation, and you remove the pain!
Cupping is much like the inverse of massage – rather than applying pressure to muscles, it uses gentle pressure to pull them upward. For most patients, this is a particularly relaxing and relieving sensation. Once suctioned, the cups are generally left in place for about ten minutes while the patient relaxes. For weight loss and cellulite treatments, oil is first applied to the skin, and then the cups are moved up and down the surrounding area.
Most patients find the experience pleasant, although they may be left with localized discoloration in a form of dark pink or red circles that will fade and disappear within a few days or up to a week. Cupping doesn’t always leave a mark supporting the idea that there is no stagnation in that part of the body.
